As I witness these price drops and think back to one of the greatest recessions this country has ever seen I remember how we had the highest prices of fossil fuels we have seen at the same time. I am very aware of the impact that the banks with their junk home loans had on the economy but I also believe it was compounded by OPEC's raise of oil prices at the same time. We are just now as a noation climbing out of this huge sink hole that caused a nation to suffer as never before. I have often wondered why the news sources at the time did not question or pressure the government to investigate why when we had such worldwide economic suffering that the oil industry was enjoying some of the greatest profits in their existence. The thing is that unlike fossil fuel production renewables do not have the ability to be manipulated like this. This is probably why investments have been so slow.
